The Hues of Fall 2013 From Pantone

Each fall, the king of color, Pantone, releases their seasonal color report with trendy color picks both for fashion and for the home. Consider giving your Charleston home a seasonal update of autumnal accents with some of Pantone’s Fall 2013 Color Palette.

Earlier this year, Pantone announced Emerald Green as the Color of the Year. Emerald continues its reign into fall but adds some complementary tones to go with it.

Linden Green brings a lightness and brightness to complement the deeper shades of fall, says Pantone, while Mykonos Blue, hearkening the deep shades of blue found on the Greek Isles, adds a bold, yet classic and relaxed fall look. These shades work nicely in bedrooms, because of their calming qualities.

We love Acai with its rich purple elegance, and Pantone suggests pairing it with Samba red for a dramatic look for a living room or dining room.

Koi, so named for those beautiful golden fish, is a decorative orange that dazzles and shimmers says Pantone. A great spot for energizing Koi would be the kitchen to create an inspiring and uplifting atmosphere.

Vivacious, a deep fuchsia, brings an element of sensuality and a pop of color. Pair it with the lush Deep Lichen Green to balance its brightness with this green’s richness and depth. We envision these two colors in the master bedroom through the addition of a new comforter or accent pillows.

Turbulence is a dark mercurial gray that goes well with Carafe, a mocha color that serves as the season’s neutral shade. Add hints of these colors in the family room, porch or outdoor spaces to bring in the feel of fall.

Which of these Fall 2013 colors are your favorite? Will you work any into your home?
