From Summerville to Mt Pleasant to downtown Charleston, there’s live outdoor music to please all tastes from shag music to rock to reggae. So put on your dancing shoes and get ready to boogie at these summer music events around Charleston:


Charleston Carifest Caribbean Carnival

June 11-14

While music is one of the highlights of the annual Charleston Carifest held at venues throughout the city, it also celebrates all forms of Caribbean culture including food, costumes, dance and more.


Third Thursdays

Downtown Summerville

From 5-8 p.m., every Third Thursday of the month, Summerville DREAM hosts a special event to showcase Summerville businesses. Enjoy shopping, dining and live music as you stroll the quaint streets of Flower Town. Restaurants offer outdoor seating, stores offer special sales and local musicians will be featured throughout downtown.


Party in the Park

Memorial Waterfront Park, Mt Pleasant

Tuesdays in June

WEZL will host a free Party in the Park music concert series, sponsored by Sabal Homes, every Tuesday in June after the Mt Pleasant Farmer’s Market from 6-9 p.m. Food and drink vendors will be on site.


Reggae Nights Concert Series

James Island County Park

June 5-July 31

Enjoy uplifting reggae music in the beautiful outdoor setting of James Island County Park at 8:30 on select Fridays in June and July. Admission for the Reggae Nights Concert Series is $8 for adults and free for children 12 and younger.


Shaggin’ on the Cooper

Mt Pleasant Pier Memorial Waterfront Park


Get a firsthand look and lesson in the state dance of South Carolina, The Shag, at the popular annual music series Shaggin’ on the Cooper. On select Saturdays, June through September, local bands will perform, offering attendees the chance to shag the night away seaside. Food and drink is available for purchase. Tickets are $10 at the gate, $8 in advance.


Party at the Point

Charleston Harbour Resort & Marina

Tuesdays in June

Every Friday evening throughout June, head over to Patriots Point in Mt Pleasant for Party at the Point, a lively Happy Hour by the water. From 5:30-9:30 p.m., the Charleston Harbour Resort & Marina will host live music by local bands beachfront with food and drinks available for purchase. The event is family friendly.
