Sabal’s Laid-Back, Coastal Designs Win Awards and Attention

Customizations like corner fireplaces, chef’s kitchens and materials upgrades are chief characteristics of Sabal’s most popular builds – and these features were noted at the Best in American Living™ Awards last spring when two Sabal home plans – the Camelia and Firethorn -received the Platinum and Silver awards in their categories, respectively.

As the residential building industry’s premier awards program, the judges noted the “beautiful proportions” of our builds.

Sharing the honors Sabal has received with prospective homebuyers is important to us, not for bragging rights (which, we have to admit, are a fun bonus!), but to provide our followers with information that shows we practice what we preach: that our philosophy of quality craftsmanship, beautiful designs and functionality isn’t just words on a page.

We are proud to have garnered numerous accolades for our home designs in recent years: Charleston City Paper named Sabal Homes the 2016 “Best Custom Homebuilder.” Camelia and Firethorn were also prize-winners last summer at the 35th Annual Aurora Awards, where the models earned four awards. The prestigious design competition is affiliated with the Southeast Building Conference and the Florida Home Builders Association.

Some of the qualities industry writers and experts have noted include the laid-back atmosphere and highly functional design of our builds.

Not to mention ‘fun’ features that are rapidly becoming essentials to today’s homebuyers, such as “board and batten siding, barn doors, and deep porches.”

Media outlets regularly feature information about our new builds in homebuilder roundups and features. The Post and Courier ran an article about Sabal’s recent grand opening for the new Johnston Pointe neighborhood on Johns Island, which is nine miles from downtown Charleston and developed around a 25-acre lake.
