Around Town: Must-See July Events

We hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! With summer in full swing, the events calendar for the Lowcountry is heating up fast — and we have your inside look at the top events happening around town.

The Charleston Library Society’s Summer Series – July 15, July 29, August 11

The Charleston Library Society is offerings events throughout this month and beyond to help showcase the many benefits of being a part of the Library Society. First up this month is Caddyshack & Cocktails, followed by another movie night, then continuing the festivities with Beer & Bingo Night! Needless to say, there’s nothing staid or stodgy about this series!

SC Aquarium After Hours – July 21

Have you ever wanted to see the magic of the ocean at night? Now you can. For only a few nights this summer, the aquarium is hosting an ‘after hours’ evening, including delicious food and refreshments, hourly animal encounters and two evening dives. The last ticket is sold at 9 p.m. the night of, so be sure to save your spot ahead of time! 

Bazaar at the Point – July 24

This free monthly community event focuses on locally sourced products, arts and crafts, and is completely open to the public. Bazaar at the Point provides a gathering place for locals to enjoy a variety of local vendors in industries such as specialty local food and drinks, live music, crafts, environmental education, kids’ corner, and more.

Summer Camps – July

There are tons of summer camps for kids of all ages. The Junior Historian Summer Camp (July 11-15) and the Charleston Museum’s Summer Camps – ages 6 to 11 (July 25-29) are coming up soon, and the Wild Blue Ropes Warrior Camp, Gibbes Art Camp, Mini Mariners Adventure Camp, Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry Summer Camps and the SOL Surfers Surf Camp are already accepting campers.
