Charleston Restaurant Week, Jan 4th – 22nd 

Charleston’s 2017 Restaurant Week, executed by the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association, Inc (GCRA), is one of the most highly anticipated culinary events in the Charleston area. This is a tasty opportunity to enjoy the world-renowned cuisine of the Lowcountry as participating restaurants offer prix fixe lunch and dinner menus.

Charleston Health and Wellness Expo, Jan 9th – 10th free admission for two days of learning about how to treat and enlighten your body mind. A series of events such as heath screenings, fitness tests, cooking lessons, dieting tips, and even massages are amongst the many features of this two-day expo in the beautiful Gaillard Center.

Charleston Marathon, Jan 13th-15th

Get ready for the 7th Annual Charleston Marathon Weekend – January 13-15, 2017. Events include Full Marathon, Half, 5k, Youth Marathon, Bike Ride, Health and Fitness Expo and Finish Line Festival. A 26.2-mile run showcasing the beauty and the history of the Lowcountry, starting in downtown Charleston and ending in North Charleston. Start time is 8 am!

Southern Fried Chicken Challenge, Jan 14th 

Who doesn’t love fried chicken? Join the locals at The Grove at Patriots Point for the first annual Southern Fried Chicken Challenge and make your belly’s vote count! This inaugural event will host 20 local vendors that will bring their vision of the perfect fried chicken to life

Charleston Jazz Festival, Jan 20th – 22nd

The highly anticipated Charleston Jazz Festival is back for its third year in the Holy City with a star-studded line-up. 3 days of smooth, sultry sounds including your very own Charleston Jazz Orchestra and 20-time Grammy Award winners, The Manhatten Transfer and Take 6.

Lowcountry Oyster Festival, Jan 29th 

Who’s ready to do some oyster shucking? How does 80,000 pounds of oysters sound? The Lowcountry Oyster Festival is the world’s largest oyster festival and has been named one of the “top 20 events in the southeast” by Southeast Tourism Society. Highlights include the legendary “Oyster Shucking” and “Oyster Eating” Contests, live music on the main stage, wine, a selection of domestic and imported beers, a Children’s Area and a “Food Court” showcasing a variety of local favorite restaurants to satisfy everyone’s taste.
