Happy belated Labor Day, everyone! We hope you were able to relax this past weekend and enjoy those final few moments of summer. Now that it is officially a new season, there is an entirely new batch of events and activities for you and your friends and family to enjoy this month. And we’re breaking it down by sharing a few of our top picks:
The 45th Charleston Scottish Games & Highland Gathering is one of the best ways to celebrate the beginning of fall. Complete with kilts, whisky tastings, dancing, food and classic Scottish games, you will feel as if you are actually in the rolling hills of Scotland. You will also be able to enjoy authentic Scottish fare and iconic bagpiping, all while celebrating the Celtic culture of the Highlands.
Hosted by the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry, this free family festival encourages both children and grown-ups to discover how being active can be fun. With more than 25 community partners participating, attendees can enjoy a wide range of playful crafts and fun-filled activities to engage children of all ages. You’ll also receive free admission to the Children’s Museum for the whole day!
Get your taste buds ready! One of Charleston’s many award-winning restaurants, the Macintosh is celebrating five wonderful years in the Lowcountry this month. For one full week, the Macintosh will be offering specials such as half-off wine and champagne, a Pig Pickin’ with Blackberry Farm and a three-course menu featuring items from the original restaurant opening menu.
From local boutiques and Etsy entrepreneurs to national brands and award-winning chefs and celebrities, almost everyone is making their way to the Southern Women’s Show at the end of the month. This three-day event features fashion shows, shopping, live cooking demonstrations, special giveaways and so much more.
Hosted on the last Sunday of every month from now until December, the Cleadon Sunday Flea features local artists, food trucks and tons of family friendly activities. Open rain or shine, this monthly event is hosted at the Warehouse in North Charleston from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is a favorite for locals and visitors alike.
