Have a blast at Patriot’s Point this 4th of July
Celebrate the 4th of July at Mt. Pleasant’s signature patriotic extravaganza. In its 13th year, the annual 4th of July Blast will be held at Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum. The festivities are planned to take place from 4 p.m. to midnight and include. live music on two stages and a ‘Kidz Zone’ play area featuring eight attractions. Kids will get the opportunity to explore an 83-foot inflatable replica of an aircraft carrier, a 40-foot Ferris wheel and get a taste of traditional 4th of July treats at the food and beverage garden.
For adults and children alike wishing to get a better understanding of the significance of this important holiday, volunteer veterans from WW II, Korea, Vietnam and Iraq will be on hand aboard the USS Yorktown to tell their stories of patriotism, valor and honor. Admission to the USS Yorktown will only be $5 after 5 p.m.
The evening will end with a bang with fireworks being blasted from the deck of the USS Yorktown over the Charleston Harbor beginning at 10:05 p.m.
